Bretman Rock honored by the Hawaii House of Representatives
Bretman Rock adds another achievement to his long list of honors: the influencer has just been honored by the Hawaii House of Representatives for his work in bringing positive attention to Hawaii and to Filipino-Americans.
On Instagram, the Filipino-born, Hawaii-raised content creator posted videos and photos from the ceremony and reflected on his journey.
“Thank you so much for the opportunity, I never thought this would ever happen, I was just an Ewa Beach boy twerking behind the manapua truck, giving MTV crib tours of my high school and singing my boba song everywhere,” Bretman said.
He added that he will never forget this day.
“I also got to spend it with the Filipino Caucus and it was so fun and so brown I loved every moment of it and spending it with my people!” Bretman said.
“And girl they had a whole lechon for me for lunch!!! I really felt like a queen.”
Bretman celebrated his eighth year in social media last January. He previously honored his past self, and said he is “proud of that little brown boy” and that his success “is all because of a little Filipino bakla.”
Bretman was last in the Philippines in August 2023 for a belated birthday celebration in Palawan. He was able to try out fire dancing at the beach, was memorably stung by a stingray, and ate tamilok.
Bretman also visited the country in March 2023 for book signing events of his first memoir, “You’re That Bitch.”
Another of Bretman’s recent achievements is modeling for Beyonce’s hair care brand.
