2 beauticians from Marikina City receive dental health assistance from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Beauticians Monica Rosete and Lhola Higgins have long been giving their clients beautiful transformations, but when it comes to themselves, they said they cannot afford to give themselves upgraded, beautiful smiles with dentures.

According to “24 Oras,” Friday, Monica only earns P400 a day.

“Ang mahirap dun, tumatalsik ‘yung laway. Nakaka-discourage ‘di ba? ‘Yung customer mo, nakikipagkwentuhan ka, ta’s biglang tumalsik,” Monica said.

Having incomplete teeth also makes it difficult for Lhola to eat.

“‘Pag sabaw ‘yung kinakain mo, lagi kang gutom. Siyempre, manghihina ka nun,” Lhola said.

Lhola was already planning on getting dentures, but the total cost would reach P18,000.

Monica and Lhola were among those who signed up with GMA Kapuso Foundation’s Ngiting Kapuso Project.
