Taylor Swift is TIME's 2023 Person of the Year
Taylor Swift has been named by TIME as its 2023 Person of the Year!
On Wednesday evening, the American news magazine announced the exciting news, with the 33-year-old singer on their special issue.
“Swift’s accomplishments as an artist—culturally, critically, and commercially—are so legion that to recount them seems almost beside the point,” it wrote.
“As a pop star, she sits in rarefied company, alongside Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Madonna; as a songwriter, she has been compared to Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and Joni Mitchell,” TIME added.
Taylor was nominated for the honor alongside King Charles III, Barbie, Sam Altman, and the Hollywood screenwriters and actors who went on strike throughout the year.
In October, Taylor’s net worth reportedly passed $1 billion. In the same month, she released the re-recorded edition of her 2014 album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),’ which included vault tracks.
She is currently making stops around the world for her “The Eras Tour” concert. It is in support of her 2022 album, “Midnights.”
Taylor also recently made waves with “The Eras Tour Concert Film.”
In 2024, the “Anti-Hero” singer will visit Asia as part of her tour.
Congratulations, Tay!
