Michelle Dee reacts to Miss Universe El Salvador's mea culpa on Top 5 results

Michelle Dee reacts to Miss Universe El Salvador's mea culpa on Top 5 results

Michelle Dee addressed the statement of Miss Universe El Salvador admitting their mistake on the viral screenshot of Top 5 results in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant.

The post showed Michelle as part of the Top 5 instead of Thailand's Anntonia Porsild, who eventually finished as the first runner-up. The Philippine bet did not make the cut, ending her Miss Universe journey in the Top 10.

Michelle shared her thoughts on what happened on her Instagram's broadcast channel.

"There should be no room for error but the reality is we live in an imperfect world," she wrote.

"My request is not just to be respectful to the delegates but to the supporters that are so passionate about this platform as well," she added.

Miss Universe El Salvador apologized to Michelle and Anntonia for mixing up their names in their post.

"This was a simple error of moving too fast - we heard the same results live at the same time that you all did, no special access over here!"

Aside from the Top 10 finish, Michelle bagged three special awards in the pageant, including the Voice for Change video competition with their advocacy on autism awareness.

Nicaragua's Sheynnis Palacios became the new Miss Universe 2023.
