Winwyn Marquez to Michelle Dee: 'Ikaw pa din ang Miss Universe namin'

Michelle Dee may not have brought home the Miss Universe 2023 crown, but she is still the Miss Universe in the eyes of her family especially to her cousin fellow beauty queen Winwyn Marquez.

On Instagram, the Reina Hispanoamerica 2017 wrote a lengthy message accompanied with a photo of them.

In the post, Winwyn congratulated Michelle on her "incredible achievement" in representing the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant.

"You have made us all tremendously proud with your poise, grace, and confidence on that stage," she wrote.

"Your preparation and hard work showed in your every move, and you truly shone like the queen you are," she added.

She also called Michelle a source of inspiration and applauded her autism awareness and inclusivity advocacy.

"You are not just a beauty queen, but a voice for those who need it. Your advocacy is what makes you stand out!" Winwyn said.

Winwyn then expressed her gratitude for the honor Michelle has brought not only to their family but to the Philippines as well.

Ending her message, Winwyn congratulated Michelle and wrote, "Mahal na mahal ka namin! Ikaw pa din ang Miss Universe namin."

Michelle Dee concluded her Miss Universe 2023 journey in the Top 10.

Despite not winning the country's fifth crown, the Kapuso beauty queen gave a fierce performance earning two special awards for the night.

Michelle was among the three gold medalists of the Miss Universe 2023 Voice for Change video competition for her autism awareness advocacy. She also took home the Spirit of Carnival Award.

The 73rd Miss Universe pageant was held at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua was crowned as the Miss Universe 2023 by reigning queen R'Bonney Gabriel.
