Kamikazee's Jay Contreras after Sorsogon issue: 'Choose love'

Kamikazee frontman Jay Contreras shared cryptic posts on social media after the OPM band was kicked out of an event in Sorsogon.

On Instagram, Jay posted three black and white photos of himself and captioned them with "Choose love" and "I choose love."

Kamikazee was supposed to perform for the town fiesta in Casiguran, but Sorsogon governor Boboy Hamor went up the stage to explain that he sent the band home.

"Sana naintindihan n'yo hindi ko gusto 'to. Kaso sinabi ko nga may attitude. 'Di na 'yon makakabalik sa akin maniwala kayo sa akin," he said.

"Hindi tayo puwedeng bastusin na taga Sorsogon. Pinipilit ko naitaas ang dignidad ng bawat Sorsoganon," he added.

[I hope you understand I don't like doing this. But they showed attitude. They won't be able to return here, believe me.]

Hamor said the band was paid even before their performance.

The governor did not elaborate what happened, but Dong Mendoza, a Public Information Officer of Sorsogon, said Hamor got angry when Kamikazee refused to take photos in the province's 16,000 blue roses attraction.

He said the band initially agreed to do so but did not go to the venue during the day of the pictorial.

Kamikazee is a OPM band popular for their 2006 song "Narda." The band is composed of Jay Contreras, Jomal Linao, Led Tuyay, Jason Astete, Allan Burdeos, Jian Lubiano, Mikki Jill.
