Will Samantha Bernardo join Miss Universe Philippines? Beauty queen answers

Samantha Bernardo's fans have been clamoring for her to return to pageantry after Miss Universe removed the age restriction for candidates.

The beauty queen herself revealed that the thought has occurred to her with her reaction to the news. But will she go through with it?

Back in 2021, Sam said she is already done with pageantry. She last competed in the Miss Grand International 2020, where she finished first runner-up.

"I'm not closing my doors towards it," she said during a press conference for Chanyeol's fan meet, which she hosted.

Sam, however, has not yet made a decision.

"I feel the love and support of the whole Philippines but let's see how I feel because I've turned the page of the next chapter of my life," she said.

"I've gotten engaged and who knows, it's gonna be next year."

Sam, 30, got engaged to boyfriend Scott Moore in February.

"Let's just support our queens especially Michelle Dee. She is competing in Miss Universe this year," she said.

The Miss Universe Organization decided to remove its age limit for candidates last month. Previously, aspiring queens must be 18 to 28 years old.

The change will take effect starting next year's pageant.
