Abandoned dog left in a plastic box recovers after months of rehab

An abandoned dog who was left in a plastic box in Dasmariñas, Cavite has now recovered after undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.

According to Saleema Refran's report for "24 Oras," Monday, the dog, who has been named Daisy, was afflicted by mange and badly malnourished when she was found.

After several months of love and care, Daisy is now doing well.

"When she sees you, she would approach. Or kung ikaw ang mag-aaproach sa kanya, hindi ka po niya aangilan," said Atty. Heidi Caguioa of Animal Kingdom Foundation.

"Wala po siyang ipapakitang aggression. Napakabait pong aso at malambing. Napakalambing nito talaga," she added.

Caguioa said a dog getting mange is one of the reasons why fur parents leave their babies behind.

"Sa simula s'yempre, ang cute. Ang ganda dahil malusog pero eventually pag ito ay nagsisimula nang magkasakit or mag-manifest ng mga ganitong issues ay hindi na masyadong cute kaya hindi na rin nila pinapansin. O pinababayaan na ito," she said.
