'Bubble Gang' pays tribute to Mike Enriquez with throwback sketch

"Bubble Gang" has paid tribute to the late GMA Network pillar Mike Enriquez with a throwback sketch on Sunday.

The country's longest-running gag show aired a short video of the veteran broadcast journalist participating in a spoof of himself.

Excuse me, panoorin natin ito. Sir Mike, PASOK!"

In the video, Mike presented the news with Michael Ricketts and Mang Enriquez in "4 Oras."

Mike performed anchor duties as his usual self, but he could not help but smile at some of the jokes.

Narito po kami para mag celebrate all night long," he said in his closing spiel.

Mike passed away on August 29. He was 71 years old. His death was emotionally announced by Mel Tiangco on "24 Oras."

According to his wife, Baby Enriquez, he contracted pneumonia due to his weakened immune system following his kidney transplant.

Tributes from the media industry and the public poured for the long-time "24 Oras" anchor and "Imbestigador" host.

"Bubble Gang" mainstay Michael V. honored him with a portrait and wrote a touching farewell message.

"Goodbye, Sir Mike.
