Ateneo debuts at the 84th spot in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings
Ateneo de Manila University has appeared on the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings for the first time.
According to the newly released list, which is composed of 669 universities across the continent, Ateneo debuted at the 84th spot. It is the highest ranking Philippine school on the list and the only one in the top 100.
Ateneo is followed by the University of the Philippines in the 201 to 250 rank, De La Salle University in 501 to 600, and Mapua University in 601+.
THE’s Asia University Rankings use the same performance indicators as the World University Rankings, but are recalibrated to reflect the attributes of the continent’s institutions.
According to THE, the world rankings are created “to assess university performance on the global stage and to provide a resource for readers to understand the different missions and successes of higher education institutions.”
The magazine added that the Asian rankings are based on a university’s teaching, research, citation, industry income, and international outlook.
Early this month, Ateneo was also named the top Philippine school on THE’s Impact Rankings.
