5 things to know about Miss International Philippines 2023 Angelica Lopez

Angelica Lopez from Palawan became Miss International Philippines 2023 at the Bb. Pilipinas coronation event on Sunday!

As the newly crowned beauty queen prepares to represent the country in the Miss International pageant next year, here are five things to know about Angelica.

1. She loves the simple life in the province

Angelica grew up in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, and she's loud and proud of her roots.

"I have experienced what it's like to lead a simple life, taking pleasure in my morning coffee and the aroma of the early meal that my grandparents would prepare for us as we gazed at the blue sky and swaying trees," she said in an Instagram post.

"Taking a break in nature not only allows me to detox, unwind, and contemplate, but it also reminds me of who I really am and where I came from," the 22-year-old beauty queen added.

2. She started modeling at 14

A part of Puerto Princesa-based modeling agency Elitista Circle of Models, Angelica started modeling at 14, which soon became her bread and butter.

3. She was named Miss Asia Global 2022 1st Runner Up

Angelica is not quite a beauty pageant newbie. Before becoming Miss International Philippines, Angelica was previously crowned the first runner-up of Miss Asia Global 2022.

4. She is a beach babe

Growing up in Palawan, Angelica has been surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches and resorts in the world, and she is a certified beach babe, as seen in her multiple beach photos on Instagram.

5. Her advocacy is empowering and educating the less fortunate children

Angelica is more than just a beauty queen with a pretty face. On her profile page in the Bb. Pilipinas website, Angelica said she aims to inspire, empower, and educate "the less fortunate children to be resilient and limitless amidst life challenges."
