Celeste Cortesi turns emotional during final walk as Miss Universe Philippines

Celeste Cortesi was ever graceful as she did her final walk as Miss Universe Philippines 2022.

The beauty queen looked resplendent in a metallic gold gown with a train.

She also turned emotional and shed some tears as she waved farewell at pageant fans in the crowd. In her voice over, she thanked her family, her fans, and the Miss Universe Philippines organization who all supported her in her journey.

After her walk, she crowned Michelle Dee as the new Miss Universe Philippines.

Celeste bowed out early of the 2022 Miss Universe pageant, which was the first time since 2009 that the Philippines’ bet did not make it to the semifinals.

Thirty-eight pageant hopefuls competed for the Miss Universe 2023 crown. The coronation was held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The pageant was hosted by Alden Richards and Xian Lim, whereas Tim Yap and Maureen Montagne are the backstage hosts. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi was a special guest host.

Reigning Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel meawhile was the event’s special guest. Fil-Am singer Jessica Sanchez and Korean singer Nam Woo Hyun were the performers. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
