Michael Leyva reveals sky-blue gown he made for Celeste Cortesi
Filipino fashion designer Michael Leyva shared the daring gown he made for Celeste Cortesi for the Miss Universe pageant.
On Instagram, Sunday, Leyva posted a photo of Celeste wearing his creation, a sky blue fully beaded Swarovski gown with a cape.
Celeste did not get the chance to wear it on the Miss Universe stage as the Fil-Italian beauty queen missed the Top 16.
"Queen," Leyva wrote, punctuated with three blue heart emojis. "You're still our Miss Universe."
"Thank you for making us all proud," he added.
According to the poem Celeste's father wrote for her, "Celeste" means heavenly and sky blue in Italian, which was why the Philippine bet wore a sky blue Oliver Tolentino creation during the preliminary long gown competition.
Miss USA R'Bonney Gabriel was crowned Miss Universe 2022, followed by Venezuela's Amanda Dudamel as first runner-up and the Dominican Republic's Andreina Martínez Founier as second runner-up.
