Catriona Gray on Philippines, Thailand not advancing to Top 16: 'We always have next year'
Pageant powerhouses Philippines, Thailand, and Mexico, among others, didn't make it to the semifinals of Miss Universe 2022 grand coronation night on Saturday night.
Shortly after the announcement of the Top 16, composed of Puerto Rico, Haiti, Australia, Dominican Republic, Laos, South Africa, Portugal, Canada, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Curacao, India, Venezuela, Spain, USA, and Colombia, Catriona Gray comforted the fans of those countries who failed to advance.
"Guys, you are not alone, Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, Indonesia, I know you might be feeling a little bit of disappointment right now, but we always have next year," the Miss Universe 2018 said backstage.
The 71st Miss Universe pageant is being held at the Morial Convention Center. The winner will be crowned with Mouawad's "Force for Good" crown by reigning queen Harnaaz Sandhu.
Philippine bet Celeste Cortesi did not advance to the pageant's Top 16.
Thank you for representing the Philippines, Celeste!
