Nawat Itsaragrisil apologizes amid issues surrounding Miss Grand International: 'We stop now'

Miss Grand International (MGI) president Nawat Itsaragrisil has apologized amid the issues surrounding the pageant.

Recently, the MGI went under fire for a cryptic post on "MU," which netizens perceived as Miss Universe. Audiences said the video was "unnecessary" and "disrespectful."

During MGI Philippines’ launch at Hilton Manila Thursday, Itsaragrisil took the time to break his silence.

"I do apologize if anything happened before, if it happened, or if you're thinking something happened. Any rumor, anything, leave it there. We stop now," he said.

"Now and the future is most important. We are the same world, we [have] the same mission. The most important [is] we must learn together," he added.

As he partners with the ALV Pageant Circle for the Philippine franchise, Itsaragrisil also said this is a "dream come true." He also promised to help with whatever the country needs.

The current MGI 2022 queen is Brazil's Isabelle Menin, who is also present at the MGI Philippines launch.
