Herlene Budol spends time with kids in Uganda before Miss Planet International finals

Looks like Herlene Budol is already making core memories in Uganda.

On Instagram, Sunday, the beauty queen shared a video of herself having fun with kids as they chanted "Philippines" while jumping and dancing around.

"Salubungin ka ng mga batang masayahin na parang mga kababayan ko lang na kahit anong dagok ang dumating sa ating buhay, hindi nila nakakalimutan ngumiti," she wrote in the caption.

"Ang kanilang halakhak at hiyawan ay nagsisilbing inspirasyon para ipagpatuloy ko ang aking misyon."

("You are greeted with happy children, who are just like my countrymen who never forgets to smile despite facing struggles in life. Their laughter and cheers serve as my inspiration to continue my mission.")

This came after Herlene took to Instagram to express dismay over her national costume not arriving in Uganda in one piece. She described feeling "sobrang lungkot."

Herlene flew to Uganda last Thursday to represent the Philippines in the Miss Planet International finals on November 19 in Kampala.

She was previously named 1st runner-up at Binibining Pilipinas 2022, where she also won seven awards.
