Ice Seguerra talks about directing 'Drag Race Philippines: Untucked'

In case you didn’t know, aside from the official “Drag Race Philippines” episodes, there’s a separate show called "Untucked" dedicated to what goes behind the scenes of the reality show, and it was directed by no less than “Eat Bulaga” mainstay, Ice Seguerra.

This is Ice's directorial debut for reality TV shows. On Wednesday’s episode of “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel,” he said that directing has always been a "happy experience" for him.

“Pero syempre, nag-notch up siya because I’m such a big fan of the franchise [Drag Race Philippines] as well,” he told Pia.

Ice said that when he got the offer to direct "Untucked," he was over the moon out of excitement.

“[I was just] a fan tapos biglang [I will direct] it, ang sarap [sa feeling],” he added.

Pia couldn’t help but fangirl over the drag queens in the podcast. Among her favorites are Viñas DeLuxe, Precious Paula Nicole, and Marina Summers.

Ice then shared what it was like meeting the queens for the first time.

“Meeting the queens, it’s so amazing. [They all have] different personalities, but loveable. I love them so much,” he said.

Ice said he plans to keep his relationship with the queens even after the show. In fact, Brigiding, Eva Le Queen, Marina Summers, Precious Paula Nicole, Turing, and Viñas DeLuxe will join him in his #BecomingIce concert set on Oct 15.

“Sa lahat ng guests ko, sila siguro yung pinaka recent kong naging mga kaibigan but these queens are just so endearing and the connection we have is inexplicable."

Drag Race Philippines aired its finale episode on Wednesday, crowning Precious Paula Nicole as its first-ever winner. —JCB, GMA News
