Tracy Maureen Perez shares lessons learned a year after Miss World Philippines

To celebrate one year since her crowning as Miss World Philippines 2021, Tracy Maureen Perez shared an emotional Instagram post on the lessons she learned.

The Cebuano queen could not help but look back on all the good and difficult events in her life.

“[F]rom the moment I was born as a miracle baby, losing my mom at a young age, having nothing and [no one] at some point in my life, all the failures, heartbreaks, doubts, frustrations,” Tracy said.

However, she also made sure to note the small wins in her life, such as different opportunities, and the people she lost and gained. Tracy added, “all the triumphs and breakthroughs, all the circumstances that made me braver, smarter, and stronger up to this day, I am truly grateful for everything.”

Guided by God, her “beautiful guardian angel” or her mom, her past experiences, and her fighting spirit, Tracy said, “I know in my heart that I am always led to where I’m supposed to be.”

The beauty queen and industrial engineer shared that her key takeaway from these challenges would be to “always remain kind, brave, and hopeful no matter what.”

“Whatever life throws at you, find a way to see it through. Work harder, build a brighter future, do better, be healthier, love more, learn more, and only allow good in all aspects of your life—good people, good environment, good circumstances, and good thoughts.”

As she ended her post, Tracy gave some words of affirmation.

“To all the dreamers out there, keep going. Have a solid foundation of your education, of your values, of your core people, and keep trying even if things get rough! One day, you will also look back and smile because of how far you’ve come.” —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
