'Jessica idol!' Kara David shares funny encounter while jogging in UP

Kara David had a funny encounter while jogging at the University of the Philippines.

On Facebook, Thursday, Kara shared a photo with a man riding his motorcycle and narrated their cute exchange on campus.

"May narinig akong humahabol sa akin at sumisigaw 'Jessica! Idol! Jessica!' Tumigil ako, 'Hindi po ako si Jessica' (pero secretly, kinilig ako kasi idol ko rin si Ma'am Jessica)," she wrote in the caption.

["I heard someone following me and shouting, 'Jessica! Idol! Jessica!' I stopped, 'I'm not Jessica' (but I secretly felt kilig because Ma'am Jessica is also my idol)."]

"Sabay sabi ni Manong: 'Ay sorry, Kara David pala! Ikaw 'yung host ng mga pagkain. Lagi ka kumakain sa TV. Tama 'yan, Ma'am, jogging ka para 'di ka tumaba. Kain ka kasi nang kain,'" she added.

["Manong then said, 'Oh sorry, it's Kara David! You're the host with the food. You always eat on TV. It's good to jog so you won't get fat. You keep eating."]

The "Pinas Sarap" host jokingly said she was urged to run 15 kilometers because of it.

It looks like the encounter made both of their mornings—as seen on their huge smiles in the photo.

Kara, an award-winning documentarist, was named the new chair of the journalism department of the university's College of Mass Communication last June.

She has been an assistant professor in UP since 2017, teaching courses on broadcast journalism and peryodismo sa Filipino.

In her guesting at "The Howie Severino Podcast," David said she uses Taylor Swift and Gloc-9 songs as references when teaching her students.
