1,200 residents in Florita-hit Isabela receive help from GMA Kapuso Foundation
A total of 1,200 residents from barangays Fely and Minanga in Isabela, which were affected by Severe Tropical Storm Florita, received help from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to a “24 Oras” report Thursday, among the beneficiaries was Marineth Bonifacio, one of the farmers whose harvest was washed away by the storm.
“Iyong mga kamoteng kahoy at saka saging, natumba lahat,” she said, adding they were still afraid after what happened to them during Supertyphoon Juan in 2010.
“Natatakot po kasi kami dahil ayaw na naming maranasan iyong nakaraang bagyo. Kinatatakutan pa namin iyong pag-baha kasi dito po sa ’min nagbabaha rin ’pag malakas ang ulan.”
Because the municipality could be reached only through air or water, the GMA Kapuso Foundation went via the Philippine Air Force’s chopper and gave out relief goods.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa GMA Kapuso (Foundation) sa agarang pag-tulong niyo sa amin na kahit po nasa liblib na lugar kami, kami’y inyong tinulungan at pinuntahan,” Marineth said.
GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
