Jimmy Bondoc says he lost around PHP1M worth of music equipment to studio fire
Jimmy Bondoc said he lost about PHP1 million worth of music equipment after a fire broke out in his studio. Despite this, he is still thankful that they are okay.
The singer shared the news on Tuesday with photos of his musical instruments now damaged and covered in ashes.
“Just had a fire in my studio. We are safe. But lost so much of the equipment I have worked so hard for over the years! The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away. I am blessed to be alive. Asking for your prayers,” he wrote on Facebook.
In a video, Jimmy said the fire started from an electric outlet. Among the damaged items were cameras, a computer, drums, a keyboard, and his well-loved guitars.
Instead of asking donations for himself, Jimmy said in another post that those interested in helping may offer their assistance to his friends.
“Kahit nasunugan po ako, ang dami pong mabuting tao,” he said.
“Siguro I lost a million pesos worth of equipment. Ang dami tuloy gusto tumulong,” he added.
“Wag niyo po sana isipin na nagpapaka ‘banal’ ako. Pero yung gamit, kakayod na lang ako para mabawi. May I earnestly ask instead na mag-donate po kayo sa dalawang kaibigan ko.”
According to Jimmy, one of his friends is in a coma and in medical debt of PHP 1 million. The other is undergoing financial challenges brought by treatment for cancer.
“This is my sincerest request, hoping it is received by open, non-judgmental ears and hearts. Masakit po mawalan ng gamit, I do not deny it. Please help me to help others who stand to lose so much more.”
Jimmy is popular for the songs “Let Me Be The One,” “I Believe,” and “Grow Old With You,” among other hits. – RC, GMA News
