Herlene Budol's uplifting message after Binibining Pilipinas success: 'Kung kaya ko kaya mo din'

Herlene Budol had some words of encouragement for everyone after her triumphant stint in Binibining Pilipinas 2022.

On Instagram, Monday, Herlene shared a photo of her with her crown, flowers, and the many sashes she received during the coronation night.

"Kung kaya ko kaya mo din. 'Wag kang matakot ipakita kung ano ang meron ka [If I can do it, you also can. Don't be afraid to show what you have]," she said.

"Binibining hindi inaasahan [Unexpected binibini] because I know for my self that I am uniquely beautiful with a mission," she added, echoing what she said during the Q&A portion.

Herlene, who rose to fame as comedian "Hipon Girl," broke stereotypes on who can aspire to be a beauty queen.

She spoke Tagalog during the Q&A portion, something rarely done in Philippine pageants.

"Para sa 'kin, isang karangalan na nakatungtong ako dito sa Binibining Pilipinas bilang isang binibining hindi inaasahan. Para sa 'kin, ang sarap palang mangarap. Walang imposible," she said.

"Isa po akong komedyante na laki sa hirap at ang aking transpormasyon ay ang magbigay ng inspirasyon," she said.

("For me, it's an honor to be here in Binibining Pilipinas as an unexpected Binibini. For me, it feels really good to dream. Nothing is impossible. I am a comedian who grew up poor and my transformation is to give inspiration.")

Herlene won seven special awards and finished first runner-up in the coronation night on Sunday.

Nothing is impossible, indeed. Congratulations, Herlene!
