Carla Abellana speaks up amid split rumors with Tom Rodriguez: ‘I was disrespected, lied to, used, made to look stupid’

Carla Abellana has spoken up amid the separation rumors with her husband Tom Rodriguez.

In a YouTube vlog posted earlier this month, the Kapuso actress replied to a comment saying she should not have made her pain public if she didn’t want any negativity.

“Sana nag-usap na lang kayo, hindi ’yung hindi mo kinakausap tapos ngayon, may balita (nang) nag-aasikaso ka ng annulment. Inaamin naman ni Tom nagkamali siya,” the comment read.

“Sana man lang mag-usap kayo nang maayos ng asawa mo. Kaya siguro nag-post si Tom kasi nagsawa na siya sa kahihintay na kausapin mo siya,” it added. “Sabihin mo sa kanya lahat ng hinanakit mo, hindi ’yung dine-deadma mo siya.”

On Wednesday, Carla spoke up, saying she couldn’t hide her pain all the time. “Ang taong lubos na nasaktan, hirap pong pigilang hindi ilabas ang galit sa anumang paraan,” she replied to the comment.

She also said she wasn’t being treated well. “I was disrespected. I was betrayed. I was lied to. I was used. I was shamed. I was made to look stupid.”

Carla said she would have accepted those, but what she couldn’t take was that even her own family suffered.

“Para gawan pa po ako at ang pamilya ko ng mas marami pang kasamaan at kataksilan sa mga sumunod na araw, linggo, at buwan, sobra sobra na po ang sakit at pagdurog ng puso at pagkatao ko,” she said.

The actress said she didn’t do anything wrong to Tom. All she did was give him love, respect, care, trust, and protection—“lahat-lahat na.” According to her, she was restricted from expressing her feelings.

“Binigay ko po buong buhay ko sa kanya,” she said.

“[Pitong] taon na po akong bawal magalit, magtampo, masaktan, mabigo, malungkot, madismaya dahil hindi po pwede,” she added.

“Makakatikim po ako kahit subukan ko pong ipaliwanag sa kanya na nasasaktan niya ako at hindi po tama ang ginagawa niya. Paulit-ulit ko pong pinapaalala sa kanya na hindi po ako kalaban at mabuti po ang kalooban at intensyon ko.”

Carla said she’d been bottling up all these feelings for seven years. She also said she asked Tom to seek professional help, to no avail.

“Tinanggap ko pa rin po siyang ng walang pagdududa kahit wala pong pagbabago. Hinarap ko po siya sa altar. Buong puso po akong determinadong alagaan ang pagsasama at pagmamahal namin, at panindigan ang mga sinumpaan namin sa harap ng Diyos,” she said.

“Sa dami po ng binigay ko kay Tom wala na pong natira sakin. Galit, pride at ego ko siya na rin po ang kumuha sa ’kin at hinayaan ko naman pong kunin din po niya. Pinaglaban ko po siya ng lagpas sa [pitong] taon.”

Carla said that while she could easily seek revenge, she was not that kind of person and she was not “bobo.” She also said what everyone saw on TV and online was just a peek at what she’s going through.

“Hindi po ako masamang tao tulad ng sinasabi, nararamdaman, naririnig at nakikita po ninyo,” she said. “Pinalaki po ako ng nanay at lola ko na marunong rumespeto, umunawa, magmahal, magpatawad, magpasalamat, magpakumbaba, at higit sa lahat may takot po [sa] Diyos.”

GMA News Online reached out to the artists’ management for comment but got no response.

Separation rumors between the two started when Tom seemingly unfollowed Carla on Instagram. Kelley Day’s name was brought up, but she immediately denied her involvement.

Though they have been following each other again on social media, Tom, as well as her wedding ring, are noticeably missing in Carla’s recent posts. She also didn’t react to his “I love you” comment.
