Miss Universe Philippines 2022 national costumes put spotlight on local textiles, weavings

The Miss Universe Philippines 2022 put a spotlight on local textiles and weavings for this year’s national costume competition.

With the theme “HABI,” 32 costumes of several colors and designs shone bright at the presentation livestreamed on TikTok Philippines on Tuesday.

According to the MUPH Organization, 30% of each finalist’s costume should be comprised of Philippine textiles or weaving.

Reigning queen Beatrice Luigi Gomez will be crowning her successor during the coronation on April 30.
