Alma Concepcion to aspiring beauty queens: ‘Overpreparation is better than underpreparation’

With the pageant season in full swing, Alma Concepcion shares some words of wisdom to aspiring beauty queens.

In an online interview with the press Wednesday, the Binibining Pilipinas International 1994 said those who were joining pageants should take their trainings seriously.

“You have to know kung saan ka weak and then ’yon na lang ’yung homework mo kasi you will really have to improve every day especially when there’s a competition coming up,” said Alma.

“Dati, nag-train ako for free sa mga gusto sumali ng pageants and always tell them that overpreparation is always better than underpreparation. Syempre sasali ka, ang goal mo na dapat, manalo.”

Apart from being physically prepared for pageants, Alma said it’s important to be mentally strong.

“You have to think like an athlete,” she said, adding that the ladies should have their “eyes on the prize.”

Alma expressed excitement for her “False Positive” co-star Herlene Budol, who had auditioned for Binibining Pilipinas 2022, saying she would be giving her some advice.

“False Positive” stars Glaiza de Castro and Xian Lim as newlyweds who will be facing challenges when the husband gets pregnant instead of the wife. The series will premiere on May 2. – RC, GMA News
