Bianca Umali on being a 1st time voter: ‘Ang sarap ng feeling na gampanan ang responsibilidad ng isang Pilipino’

Bianca Umali has revealed that as a first-time voter, she is proud of herself for doing her duty as a responsible Filipino citizen.

At the “Dapat Totoo: GMA News Lectures on #Eleksyon2022” online seminar, the Kapuso actress said she felt great for doing something that would be beneficial for the country.

“Ang sarap ng feeling na alam kong nasimulan ko nang gampanan kung ano ang tamang responsibilidad at obligasyon ng isang mamamayang Pilipino,” she said.

With only a month left before the 2022 national elections, Bianca also reminded fellow voters to stick to the facts, especially when it comes to choosing candidates.

She said everyone could do this simply by reading up and doing research on important issues in the country.

“It’s time na dapat totoo tayo sa kung ano ’yung tingin natin ang tama para sa bansa natin, oras na para sa totoong tao ang mag-lead sa atin. Dapat totoo tayo sa mga boto natin,” she said.

“I personally believe that if we can spend so much time scrolling sa kung ano ’yung trending, kaya rin to spend that much time reading, researching about the important issues sa Pilipinas,” she added.

“It may not be easy to digest sa una pero ang sarap sa puso lalo na kapag aware ka sa kung ano ’yung nangyayari sa bansa mo. I do encourage everyone to vote and dapat totoo lang.”

Bianca admitted that gathering information may be tiresome, but this was worth doing because it would benefit not just one person but the whole nation.

“It’s important for us to stay true and to think not just of ourselves, but of the whole country kasi ’di lang ’to para sa sarili natin. Para ’to sa lahat ng tao. Para ’to sa buong bansa,” she said.

In September, Bianca was proud to announce that she had successfully registered as a voter after lining up for 13 hours.
