Steffi Aberasturi ends bid for Miss Universe crown: ‘Every end is a new beginning’
Steffi Aberasturi, 27, has ended her bid for the Miss Universe crown.
On Wednesday, the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 2nd runner-up announced she would no longer be joining this year’s competition.
“From the moment I joined my first national pageant, I have been blessed with immense love and support by a community of dreamers,” Steffi wrote on Instagram.
“This has made my decision, of not joining MUPH 2022, one of the most pivotal in my life as it is not just my dream at [play] here,” she said.
“The honor to inspire, uplift, and touch people’s lives has been what I have been searching for all along. That alone is beyond the universe.”
Though a chapter in Steffi’s life had ended, she believed better things were on their way.
“Every end is a new beginning. As I close this chapter, looking forward to the bright unknown ahead, I am following my true desires with new goals and priorities. My heart has been telling me that I have the power to decide how this story will end,” said the beauty queen.
“With this, I will boldly declare that this is not the one last Steff. Be it on top of a bridge, runway, on stage, or a church aisle, this will not be the final Steff either,” she said, adding the hashtag #OneSteffiAtATime.
She also took the time to thank to those “who dreamed with me and believed that the universe is just a Steff away.”
Among those who sent their support in the comments were fellow beauty queens Katrina Dimaranan, MJ Lastimosa, Katarina Rodriguez, and Hannah Arnold.
Shortly after being crowned Miss Universe Philippines second runner-up in September, Steffi got engaged to her boyfriend Karl Arcenas in January. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
