Masbate City student excited for face-to-face classes because there’s no electricity, signal at home for distance learning
A student in Masbate City has expressed her excitement now that face-to-face classes have returned.
According to a “24 Oras” report on Tuesday, young student Gervie Elmedo has to walk over two kilometers to reach Sinalongan Elementary School.
Despite the hardships, she goes to school every day so she can reach her dreams of helping her family.
She also prefers face-to-face classes because they have no electricity and mobile signal at home, a challenge she faced while doing distance learning. They also have no neighbors.
Apart from working hard on her studies, Gervie helps around at home by selling crops and handmade brooms with her mom and siblings.
Gervie, together with 321 other students in Masbate City, were the recipients of early Christmas gifts under GMA Kapuso Foundation’s “Give a Gift: Alay sa Batang Pinoy” Christmas project.
The GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, Shopee, GCash, PayMaya, Zalora, Mega Mart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
