Vietnam’s candidate Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien is Miss Grand International 2021!

Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was crowned during the pageant’s finals night in Thailand on Saturday.

Prior to winning the crown, she and Miss Grand Ecuador had to answer a tie-breaker question.

Asked why she should be Miss Grand International 2021, she spoke in the vernacular and added in English, “I’m ready to win. I’m ready to be in Thailand for a year.”

Miss Grand Ecuador, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and South Africa were crowned first to fourth runners up, respectively.

Meanwhile, Miss Grand Thailand won best in evening gown, while Miss Malaysia, Miss Grand Peru, and Miss Grand Angola won best in national costume, and Miss Grand Puerto Rico was named best in swimsuit and Miss Cambodia got the most popular vote award.

Philippine bet Samantha Panlilio, who was crowned Miss Grand International Philippines in July, bowed out early in the competition after failing to make it to the top 20.

Before her exit, Samantha entered the top 10 best in national costume and top 5 best in swimsuit through popular vote. – RC, GMA News
