Binibining Pilipinas expresses pride, gratitude for Samantha Panlilio for raising flag in Miss Grand International
Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. expressed its pride and gratitude to Samantha Panlilio for raising the Philippine flag in the Miss Grand International 2021 pageant.
Shortly after Samantha bowed out from the competition, the organization shared its message to the beauty queen.
"Thank you for raising our flag, Sam! Stella Marquez Araneta and BPCI are delighted with your grand performance at Miss Grand International," it said.
"Thank you for giving the Philippines a good fight in Thailand. We are very proud of you, our Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2021."
Samantha bowed out early in the competition after failing to make it to the top 20 during the pageant's finals night in Thailand on Saturday.
Before her exit, she entered the top 10 best in national costume and top 5 best in swimsuit through popular vote.
During the preliminary competition, Samantha dazzled the audience in her bejeweled cape gown called "Layag Balangay," which represented the Philippines' seafaring vessel.
She also wowed the audience when she emerged with wings and wore the "Paruparo," her national costume inspired by the festival held annually in Dasmariñas.
Samantha was crowned the Binibining Pilipinas Grand International in July.
Should she have won, she would have been the first Filipina to bring home the Miss Grand International crown. – RC, GMA News
