GMA Regional TV launches Zamboanga station

GMA-7 now has a Zamboanga station!

On Thursday, GMA Regional TV proudly announced the launch of GMA Network’s 4th regional station in Mindanao and 10th in the country.

According to First Vice President and Head of GMA Regional TV and Synergy Oliver Victor Beltran Amoroso, GMA Zamboanga aims to be the network’s Western Mindanao hub.

“GMA Network, through GMA Regional TV, remains steadfast in our commitment to deliver local news that matters and stories that inspire through multiple languages and dialects in various communities across the Philippines,” he said.

“As we open GMA Zamboanga Station as our Western Mindanao hub, we are grateful to our viewers for your continued support.”

New roster of anchors

Meanwhile, the station’s newscasts will be part of GMA Regional TV’s One Mindanao initiative where news is reported for Mindanaoans by Mindanaoans.

To support its expansion, Amoroso said there would be a new roster of anchors, which included Sarah Hilomen-Velasco, Cyril Chaves, Argie Ramos and Sheillah Vergara-Rubio, among others.

“Each of them represents the key provinces and cities in Mindanao so our viewers can only expect topnotch news reportage from One Mindanao as we remain committed to our local news matters campaign,” he said. – RC, GMA News
