Miss Universe Philippines runner-up Maureen Wroblewitz expresses gratitude, promises to ‘conquer even more’
Maureen Wroblewitz expressed her gratitude to all her supporters and the sisterhood she gained after taking home the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 1st runner-up title.
"I may have not won the crown but I have won a sisterhood that I will cherish forever. What a crazy experience that was but I am grateful for how it's turned out and I'm excited for what's to come," the Filipino-German beauty queen wrote in a lengthy Instagram post on Friday.
"I hope that through me I've inspired you to strive to be the best version of yourselves!" she added. "I have conquered my fear and I'm sure I will conquer even more."
Thanking everyone who had supported her, Maureen also offered congratulated the other queens who won that night, especially the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Gomez.
"Congratulations to Beatrice Gomez! She is one of the kindest, most down to earth and sweetest people that I know. She is a fighter and she deserves the crown! I'm so proud of her!" said Maureen.
"Congratulations to all the other Queens. We were a very strong batch and we were all deserving of the crown."
Thanking all the organizations and her managers who helped her in her journey, Maureen added, "Pangasinan, this was for you!"
Aside from winning Miss Universe Philippines 1st runner-up, Maureen, who became famous for becoming the first Filipina to win "Asia's Next Top Model," also took home the special awards Miss Air Asia Philippines and Miss Hennan Resort.
Cebu City candidate Beatrice Gomez made history on Thursday when she became the first openly out member of the LGBTQIA+ community to win the Miss Universe Philippines crown.
Following Beatrice is Miss Taguig Katrina Dimaranan as Miss Universe Philippines Tourism, Miss Cavite Victoria Velasquez Vincent as Miss Universe Philippines Charity, Maureen as 1st runner-up, and Miss Cebu Province Steffi Rose Aberasturi as 2nd runner-up.
