Rabiya Mateo after stunning appearance at Miss Universe national costume show: ‘Tonight was a good night’

Rabiya Mateo took to social media to wrap up her experience after the 69th Miss Universe national costume competition.

On Friday, the Miss Universe Philippines titleholder shared a photo of herself as she strutted the runway in her iconic flag-inspired costume.

“Tonight was a good night. I had fun,” she said. “That’s what really matters.”

During the competition, the Ilongga beauty queen stunned the crowd when she emerged on stage wearing a Philippine flag-inspired costume that featured red and blue angel-like wings.

Designed by the late Rocky Gathercole, her costume, just like the Philippine flag, had three stars that stood for the country’s main island groups, namely Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

After the show, however, Rabiya reportedly did a quick live session where she was seen in tears, saying she had a mishap while she was getting ready.

The winner of the national costume competition will be announced during the Miss Universe 2020 coronation night on May 16 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida.
