Miss Universe Canada fights for racial equality in superhero national costume

Miss Canada Nova Stevens wore an especially meaningful superhero costume for the 2020 Miss Universe competition.

The beauty queen showed up at the live broadcast wearing a white outfit paired with a shield representing “strength and resistance.”

The hosts introduced the symbolic outfit by saying, “it’s important to fight for what you know is right.”

Meanwhile, the Philippines’ very own Rabiya Mateo brought Pinoy pride to the stage in a show-stopping outfit inspired by the Philippine flag, with the blue color representing royalty, red for the courage and strength of an independent woman, and yellow for the color of the sun and stars.

The national costume round of the 2020 Miss Universe pageant is streaming live through Lazada and the official Miss Universe YouTube channel.
