Rabiya Mateo finally revealed her national costume for the 2020 Miss Universe competition on Friday.
The Filipina beauty queen glided across the stage in an outfit inspired by the Philippine flag—with the blue color representing royalty, red for the courage and strength of an independent woman, and yellow for the color of the sun and stars.

According to reports, Rabiya’s national costume was made by the late Rocky Gathercole.
The world-renowned Filipino fashion designer, known for his show-stopping pieces and avant-garde designs that had turned heads in both local and international fashion scenes, passed away in March this year.
Rabiya showed off her “Halabira” walk in the massive feather-covered ensemble, which was reportedly completed by costume and jewelry designer Manny Halasan.
According to Filipino creative director and queenmaker Jonas Gaffud, the wings alone already weighed 21 kilos!
The national costume round of the 2020 Miss Universe pageant is streaming live through Lazada and the official Miss Universe YouTube channel.
