5 Korean stars make it to Forbes' '30 Under 30 Asia' list
Five Korean stars have made it to Forbes' "30 under 30 Asia" this year.
Listed under the Entertainment and Sports category were Nam Joo Hyuk, 26, and actress-singer Suzy Bae, 26, who both recently starred in Netflix’s hit K-Drama “Start-Up.”
Joining them were IU (Lee Ji Eun Lee), 27, described by Forbes as “one of the most successful solo singers of her generation"; and Hwasa (Ahn Hye Jin), 26, who is a member of K-Pop girl group Mamamoo.
GOT7 member Jackson Wang, 26, who is of Chinese descent but promotes in South Korea, also made it to the list.
Forbes' "30 Under 30 Asia" list recognizes individuals under the age of 30 who've made significant strides and impacts in their fields.
It includes 30 honorees for every category, from Arts to Entertainment and Sports; to Venture Capital; Healthcare & Science and more.
Eight Filipino entrepreneurs and change-makers made it to the list.
These include musician Guendoline Rome Viray Gomez, 23 ; Edward Christopher Dee, 28 of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; Kumu founder Rexy Josh Dorado, 28; Virtualahan founder Ryan Gersave, 27; Photographer Gab Mejia, 24; Invested Philippines co-founder Carmina Baymbong, 27; and Eskwelabs co-founders Angela Chen, 29 and Aurelia Chen, 29. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
