Jessica Soho on millennials: 'I'm very optimistic that they will be able to make a better world'

Millennials have gotten a bad rep online, with older people saying they are entitled, lazy, and too sensitive for their own good.

But award-winning broadcast journalist Jessica Soho appreciates what the younger generation brings to the table, as the world navigates an uncertain future.

In the pilot episode of "The Howie Severino Podcast," Jessica said she has high hopes for millennials, whose familiarity with technology fuels their creativity.

"I believe that because they are 'woke' and very knowledgeable about a lot of things, they will be able to find their way," she said.

"I'm very optimistic that they will be able to make a better world for all of us. I'm not giving up hope on them especially after this pandemic," she said.

The veteran journalist even credited the staff of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," who are mostly millennials, for the popularity of the show.

"They're teaching me stuff," she told her fellow GMA News pillar Howie Severino. "I'm so grateful to them because I'm relevant, even among the younger audiences."

She said that even as she trained and guided them in telling stories, she also learned from them at the same time.

"I taught them certain skills set in the past but topics wise for KMJS, a lot of the stories we do now, they generate [them]," she continued. "All of these viral and trending stories that we do in KMJS, it's thanks to my wonderful and amazing team."

Asked for her advice to the youth, Jessica has a short but sweet message: "Find your north."
