MJ Lastimosa admits feeling ‘weight of responsibility’ as she judges her 1st nat’l pageant

Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa has revealed she is feeling the weight of responsibility as one of the judges in the preliminary round of Miss Universe Philippines 2020.

“This is my first time judging Miss Universe Philippines or any national competition,” the beauty queen shared in an exclusive interview with GMA News Online, Friday.

“I think na I felt the weight of the responsibility once I was there and I was watching these girls.”

She added: “This realization you’re about to choose someone who’s going to represent the country isn’t an easy task.”

As a beauty queen herself, MJ said she knew what it felt like being on the stage and competing.

“I really want to take this opportunity to produce a Miss Philippines I know will ... represent our country on the international stage,” MJ said.

Aside from MJ, Miss Universe Philippines 2010 Venus Raj and Miss Universe Philippines 2013 Ariella Arida are set to judge in the pageant’s preliminary round.

More than 40 women are competing to bring home the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 crown.

While the preliminary round happen today, Oct. 23, on www.empire.ph, the big coronation event will air on Oct. 25, 9 a.m. on GMA-7. – RC, GMA News
