Ben&Ben nominated for MTV EMA's Best Southeast Asian Act award

Ben&Ben has been nominated for an award at the MTV 2020 Europe Music Awards.

The all-Filipino nine-piece collective is one of the nominees for the Best Southeast Asia Act category, up against Agnez Mo (Indonesia), Benjamin Kheng (Singapore), K-Clique (Malaysia), Jack (Vietnam), and Violette Wautier (Thailand).

MTV Asia announced the entries on social media last October 6.

Ben&Ben happily shared the news on their Twitter page, saying it has always been their band’s dream for people to hear their music and that the nomination could help make that happen.

The audience can cast their votes on MTV Asia’s website until November 3.

Ben&Ben is a nine-member Filipino band led by twins Paolo and Miguel Guico. Their latest album “Limasawa Street” dominated various streaming platforms with hit singles like “Kathang Isip,” “Ride Home” and “Maybe the Night.”

The band also continued to create music during the COVID-19.

They recently released “Lifetime,” a song that was inspired by a netizen who wrote about her love story in the comments of one of their music videos. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
