Artist honors Chadwick Boseman with mural in Disneyland

The memory of Chadwick Boseman is now immortalized at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

Concept artist and former Disney Imagineer Nikkolas Smith has created a mural featuring Chadwick in his Black Panther costume, with his mask on a child's face. They were doing the iconic Wakanda gesture, with fists crossed over their chests.

"It is a full circle moment for me: my final two projects as a Disney Imagineer last summer were working on the Children’s Hospital project and the Avengers Campus. To millions of kids, T'Challa was a legend larger than life, and there was no one more worthy to fill those shoes than Chadwick Boseman. I'm so thankful to be able to honor Chadwick's life and purpose in this way," Nikkolas said.

The mural can be found at the Downtown Disney District.

Disneyland meanwhile was nothing but happy about the tribute.

"We are deeply honored to feature 'King Chad' as a tribute to our beloved ‘Black Panther’ hero, Chadwick Boseman," it said on Instagram.

Chadwick died on August 29 after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Although he was diagnosed in 2016 with Stage 3 colon cancer that gradually progressed to Stage 4, it didn’t stop him from joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Black Panther in the same year. —JCB, GMA News
