Ben&Ben performs popular single 'Lifetime' live on 'Unang Hirit'

Ben&Ben graced Wednesday's episode of "Unang Hirit" to perform their latest single "Lifetime."

The song made waves earlier in the year because it was based on a heartbreaking YouTube comment on one of their music videos.

"'Lifetime' was a song born out of a YouTube comment. This song was basically written para samahan ang mga tao sa mga feelings nila ngayon in the hopes na they get to somewhere better," band member Miguel Guico said.

The OPM band also sang a bit of their popular song "Leaves," as well as "Sana Ngayong Pasok," which is apparently their favorite Christmas song to jam to.

Ben&Ben wrote "Lifetime" after netizen Anne Jou shared the story of her missed chance at love on the music video of "Pagtingin" in YouTube.

She said she attended the wedding of her best friend, whom she's been secretly in love with since high school.

"Before his wedding he thanked me for being his best friend and told me that before he met the girl he got married to, he loved me first. For 5 years. But he was also scared of losing me so he just decided to keep it," she said.

"We didn't know that if only one of us dared to make a move, a lifetime was waiting for us," she added.

The last line in particular, "a lifetime was waiting for us," has sparked inspiration to the band.

After the song dropped in June, Anne Jou thanked Ben&Ben for filling her heart with happiness and said the band was "one of the main reasons why I still think the world is a beautiful place after all I experienced." —JCB, GMA News
