Disney composer Alan Menken achieves EGOT status after winning Daytime Emmy
Disney composer Alan Menken, who composed music for "The Little Mermaid," "Aladdin," and "Pocahontas," has now achieved EGOT status.

Menken just won the 2020 Daytime Emmys award in Outstanding Original Song in a Children’s, Young Adult or Animated Program category "Waiting in the Wings" from the children's show "Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventures."
The win makes him the 16th person in history to reach EGOT status.
EGOT, which stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards, is the designation given to people who have won all four awards.
71-year-old Menken joins the ranks of Aubrey Hepburn, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and John Legend, among others.
