EXO's Xiumin and D.O. to star in army musical 'Return: The Promise of the Day'
EXO members Xiumin and D.O. are set to star in the rerun of the army musical "Return: The Promise of the Day."
The musical is about the life of Seung Ho, a war veteran in search for the remains of his comrades who perished in battle during the Korean War.
According to Soompi, it was announced that D.O. is set to play Seung Ho’s younger self.
Xiumin, on the other hand, is set to play Seung Ho’s grandson, Hyun Min, together with Lee Hong Ki from the band F.T. Island.
The cast also includes "Descendants of the Sun" actor Kim Min Suk and INFINITE member Sungyeol who are set to play Hyun Min’s friend, Woo Joo.
Xiumin was also in the cast of the previous production, together with Onew of SHINee.
"Return: The Promise of the Day" is slated to run from June 4 to July 12 at the Olympic Park’s Woori Art Hall in Seoul.
The musical will be staged to honor the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, one of the most destructive conflicts in recent history wherein more than 3 million soldiers gave their lives for their country.
According to the ticket site, "Return: The Promise of the Day" will be following social distancing protocols in order to ensure the audience’s safety and to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
