Two GMA Public Affairs documentaries bag awards in New York Festivals 2020

Two GMA Public Affairs documentaries were honored at this year's New York Festivals' TV and Film Awards.

"Babies for Sale" from The Atom Araullo Specials won silver for the Best Investigative Report category, while "Aeta Squadron/Female Spies" from Brigada won bronze for the History and Society category.

The documentary "Babies for Sale" delves into the business of selling babies online, particularly the "Adoption Pages" in Facebook.

Last year, it won the Best Documentary Programme (one-off) at the Asian Academy Creative Awards, and received a "highly commended" plaque from the Association of International Broadcasters (AIB) Awards held in London.

Meanwhile, "Aeta Squadron/Female Spies" tells the story of the Aeta Squadron 30, the unsung heroes of World War II who used bows and arrows to push back Japanese forces.
