Charlie Puth, Wiz Khalifa sing 'See You Again' as tribute to Kobe Bryant during Lakers game

Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa paid their respects to basketball icon Kobe Bryant with a heartfelt performance of their hit single "See You Again" during a Los Angeles Lakers' game on Friday night (US time).

The American singers performed the timely song during halftime.

"Love and peace to the late Kobe Bryant. Peace and blessing to his entire family. His legacy is gonna be remembered," Khalifa said after the song ended.

This was LA Lakers' first game since the helicopter crash that killed nine people, including Kobe and his 13-year old daughter Gianna, on January 26.

Before the game, the entire stadium paid tribute to Kobe, during which Lakers forward LeBron James was caught in tears.

Kobe and Gianna had been heading to a basketball game that Gianna was set to play in when the tragedy struck.

Shortly after the crash, Charlie said on Twitter that his "heart was broken."

"I am in genuine disbelief. Kobe’s legacy will continue to live on forever through his family and through everyone that adored him. I also pray for his daughter Gianna and everyone else aboard who lost their lives on this tragic day. This is heartbreaking, life is so precious," the singer wrote on Monday.
