Taguig mall lights up in purple and gold for Kobe Bryant

Uptown Mall in Uptown Bonifacio in Taguig City has lit up in purple, with the name KOBE in gold across its facade, to honor basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who has died in a helicopter crash.

"Uptown Bonifacio pays tribute to Kobe Bryant, who also touched and inspired so many lives when he visited the Philippines for several occasions," the mall said in its caption for the photo.

Purple and gold are the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom Bryant played for the entirety of his 20-season career.

Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on Sunday (early morning, PHL time).

Buildings across the US have also lit up in purple and gold to honor Bryant. — BM, GMA News
