"This post goes out to the people that were closest to me throughout the whole season. People have only seen the finished product, but preparation is the secret to success," Michelle said.
Michelle first expressed her gratitude to her family and friends, particularly her mom Melanie Marquez, dad Derek Dee and sisters Maxine and Joan.
"First and foremost, to my family and friends that flew in from every corner of the world just to support me, love me, and made sure I felt whole—thank you and I love you all so much! All the sacrifices, efforts, and hard work was so evident and I'm so blessed to have all of you in my life," Michelle said.
The beauty queen also recognized her managers, styling team and mentors from Aces and Queens, who also helped her every step of the way.
"Of course to my management and managers, thank you for the trust and support (our facetime meetings were worth it). ?To my styling team who certainly made sure my looks were on???? everyday, you know I love you two!! Those everyday debates on what to wear certainly paid off," Michelle said.
"To my mentors, thank you for backing me up and for always making the time for my spontaneous emergency calls. ?Salamat," she added.
She also thanked the designer of her gown, Francis Libiran and Victor Harry Hartman, for "creating such stunning pieces."
She may not brought home the crown in the pageant held in London last December 14, but she is still grateful for the experience and the people who were with her throughout her campaign.
"Words aren't enough to show how grateful i am. There is no "I" in "team" and I wouldn't have gone as far as I did without all of you, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. ?? #LABANPILIPINAS," she wrote.
Michelle finished the competition in the Top 12. Toni Ann-Singh of Jamaica was crowned this year's winner. —NB, GMA News
