Michelle Dee bows out of Miss World 2019, finishes at Top 12
It's another miss for the Philippines as Michelle Dee falls short of the elusive Miss World crown.
Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de León crowned Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh as the new queen.
France's Ophely Mezino came in second place, while India's Suman Rao placed third.
Michelle made it as far as the Top 12 of the pageant, but failed to make it to the Top 5.
Michelle was a force to be reckoned throughout the pageant. Before the coronation night, she had secured a spot at the Top 40 after winning the Head to Head Challenge against some of her co-candidates.
Her advocacy, autism awareness, also reached the Final 20 in the pageant's "Beauty with a Purpose" program.
Despite her loss, Michelle is closer to her true goal, which is to help with autism awareness.
The 23-year-old actress and beauty queen has just been made a Goodwill Ambassador by the Autism Society Philippines (ASP), a non-profit organization that Michelle works closely with.
The first and last Filipina to be crowned Miss World is Megan Young in 2013.
You can still continue to watch the Miss World 2019 coronation night on GMA-7.
