7 Michelle Dee facts that prove she's Miss World material
From her extraordinary talents to her regal bloodline, Miss World Philippines Michelle Dee is a force to be reckoned with.
Here are some things you need to know about the Filipino beauty queen who's set to take the global stage on December 14.
1. Her advocacy for autism runs deep

Michelle has set a “life-long mission” to raise awareness for autism, especially among children.
She's been known to open her heart to kids with autism as a beauty queen, but only a few people know that she’s always been a loving sister to two people within the spectrum — her brothers Mazen Marquez and Adam Lawyer were both diagnosed with autism.
"Having grown up with two autistic siblings taught me the concept of purpose," Michelle said.
2. She’s a #woke queen
Our potential Miss World is a bold defender of equal rights.
She recently showed support for the LGBT community at a pride march, saying, "I hear you, I support you, and I will always march with you. Let’s keep making waves together."
3. She’s got quite an eye
The camera loves Michelle Dee, and the feeling is mutual.

During the Miss World Head to Head Challenge, the beauty queen revealed that she learned to ride an ATV as a young girl because she grew up in a ranch.
5. She’s a ranch girl by heart
That said, Michelle's simple ranch life in the Utah, United States, made her who she is today.
As she mentions in her official intro video for Miss World, she grew up "enjoying the beauty of nature from the open fields, enjoying the fresh air, the animals and precious time spent with family."
She even learned to groom horses, herd cows, and shave goats!
6. She’s got a great voice
As one of her many talents, Michelle can really carry a tune.
She just shared a charming song cover she did with her fellow Southeast Asian beauty queens, Miss World Malaysia Alexis SueAnn and Miss World Indonesia Princess Megonondo.
7. Beauty with a purpose is in her blood
Michelle was crowned Miss World Philippines 2019 last September.
Her mom is the one and only Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez. She's also cousins with Winwyn Marquez was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017.
Not to mention, she was heavily inspired by her late grandmother who set up a foundation called the Inner Peace Foundation.
Now Michelle hopes to be the second Filipina to be crowned Miss World after Megan Young in 2013.
She's currently gearing up for finals night to be held this coming December 14 in London.
