Paranormal investigator Ed Caluag is back for ‘Gabi ng Lagim VII’
Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho's annual "Gabi ng Lagim" would not be complete without paranormal investigator Ed Caluag.
But after his numerous investigations, is he still afraid of anything?
"'Yong kinatatakutan ko it's not paranormal eh. It's about kung mawalan ako ng loved ones, maiwanan ng aking mga minamahal," he said in a web exlusive interview with Jessica Soho.
He recalled that his experience in the now demolished "Bahay na Pula" during his training days was really the test of his character.
He said that he saw a priest hanging from a tree, a chained woman, and paintings that kept falling from walls. However, Ed said, he wanted to prove to himself he could stay there for a whole night.
He locked himself inside a room and said that experience molded him when it comes to horrific events.
"Hindi ko maka-conquer 'yong fear ko hangga't 'di ko matapos 'yong magdamag," he said.
Although he believes the Filipino tradition of "pagpag " during wakes, Ed, however, said he doesn't do that after his seances.
"Ang katriwan ko kasi, kung hindi ko siya [spirit] natulungan sa place na kinalalagyan niya at sinundan niya ako, pagdating ko sa bahay at kinausap niya ako, baka doon ko siya matulungan," he said.
He added there are cases where spirits do not want to communicate when they are in a place they don't feel safe to tell their stories.
Ed says he uses telepathy to communicate with these spirits. To confirm that he is talking to the right one, Ed said he usually asks someone from the family for verification.
He added he doesn't usually take cases where there is no one who can confirm the information he gets from the spirit.
"Hindi ako nakikipag-usap mag-isa, laging may taga-confirm kasi 'yon 'yong way ko para masigurado," he said.
"Ayaw ko kasi na walang proof, gusto ko laging may mapapakita na proof. Ayaw ko ng cases na parang naka-hang sa hangin kasi sayang 'yong energy to communicate," he added.
